Seat Belt Warning Light

The Bulb Check: Seat Belt Warning Light

Indicates that your seat belt is not fasten while the vehicle is running and or in gear.

What to Do: Seat Belt Warning Light

First step is to fasten your seat belt. However if the light and sometimes an annoying chime remain on and active, you may have to let a professional look it over.

Seat belts are like a circuit connection in conjunction with sensors in the seats that let the vehicle know that there is someone in that seat. Often seat belt buckles will get food and drinks in them, if you suspect this might be the case. Clean both ends of the buckle the best you can to see if it will cause the light to go out.

A bad connection in the belt buckle could cause teh light to stay on as well as a seat sensor. This is why it would be best for a professional to diagnose the issue.
