1974 BMW 2002 - Rust and Paint Restore
Overall Paint job Due To bad Paint job and rust
Work Done By RodsShop
This little classic BMW was to be my customer's daughter's first car. It had some rust in it, really not bad other than the driver's side rocker panel. Welded that whole new section in and snaded that cheap paint job down thoroughly. Had to get a front bumper for it as it was missing one.
In this time period, we were still using lacquer primers, urethane wasn't that known then. Once I got the body all blocked out and wave free, I top-coated it with Chromabase base-coat and Dupont 7600 clear. That clear was great, it sanded easy and buffed easy to a show car finish. I am lacking some pictures on this project, as soon as I find the rest, I will put them on here...
All of my cars in my pictures and videos are actual real customer's cars, so usually my main focus is to get the job done. However I plan to do better in the future.
