2007 Honda Civic Si - Peeling Clear Coat

Overall Paint Job Due To Peeling Clear Coat

2007 Honda Civic Si

This 2007 Honda Civic Si was a great little car, ran great and still tight like a new one. Unfortunately it had the typical Honda paint peeling issue. Honda makes a great car but whoever is in charge of their paint department needs to be fired.

There are many reasons paint can fade, flake and peel but the number one cause is it is applied too thin. The other would be using a lousy paint system.

The best systems are those that the base-coat and the clear bond. IF they do not bond properly, you get peeling clear coat.  Below is a gallery of pictures that were taken throughout the process of repairing the peeling clear to the finished product.

I am pretty much a one mane show, which means I am terrible of always getting step by step images.

All of my cars in my pictures and videos are actual real customer's cars, so usually my main focus is to get the job done. However, I plan to do better in the future on collecting more photos.
